If you don’t take risks, you’ll never know.
I decided to buy a box of ten rolls of Ektachrome 100, expired in 2010 and stored who knows how.
The slides came out juuust a little blue.

Here are the results—shot at box speed with a Ricohflex TLR, no light meter involved.
The Epson scanner has an option called “Color Recovery” that worked better than expected.

Turning some into BnW gave some nice/cleaner results

With a bit of editing, some colors can still come out nicely in certain shots.

Obviously, if you’re chasing perfection, I wouldn’t recommend 15-year-expired film that was probably stored in someone’s basement. I was hoping for a bit more consistency, but now that I know how it behaves, I think I’ll have fun shooting the remaining rolls.
